What will the apprentice be doing?

To be considered for this role, you don’t need any previous experience in the IT industry. As our ideal IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will require excellent communication skills and a good understanding of customer service. You will have a keen interest in IT and be eager to learn new skills.

As an IT Support Technician Apprentice, your duties include:

  • Routine IT maintenance and technical support for GWN’s small business clients, including:
  • Managing Office 365 user accounts & licences
  • Monitoring backups
  • Monitoring Anti-Virus software
  • Creating and updating Helpdesk tickets from telephone calls, emails and alerts; Including logging details of support activities in the Helpdesk system
  • 1st line remote and telephone support
  • Assist in updating customer related technical documents and reports
  • Managing escalations of issues internally, as well as to 3rd-party suppliers

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Full training towards L3 Information Communication Technician: Support Technician will be provided. You will complete a 22-month apprenticeship.

PETA Networking Fundamentals
PETA Server Fundamentals
PETA Security Fundamentals
10 Quality of Life (QoL) training days
Off-the-job training - 25 days (day release) at PETA's training centre in Cosham.
