What will the apprentice be doing?

The apprentice will work closely with the other members of the technical team to support the production department:

  • Producing production documents
  • Supporting production planning
  • AutoCAD
  • Supplier sourcing and procurement
  • Quality control

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Engineering Technician Level 3 (Technical Support) Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.

Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence), a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support and a Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Following completion of your apprenticeship and provided the apprenticeship has been completed to a satisfactory standard, you will be offered a full-time position at Support Systems (Nottm) Ltd and will become a full time member of our team

Things to consider

There may be some heavy lifting involved, and we may ask you to help with other tasks. You must be able to travel to and from the location with ease, and be able to travel to Derby for day release.
