We are seeking an enthusiastic, patient and dedicated apprentice to join our team. Undertaking a range of duties to ensure the safety, care, welfare, education and development of the children who attend our nursery. What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Working with children with regard to their safety, care, welfare and education 
  • Support staff and engage positively with the team 
  • Attend any appropriate training & staff meetings
  • Discuss college work with your Nursery mentor 
  • Carry out roles and responsibilities in the room you're working in 
  • Ensure children are kept safe and that you follow safeguarding procedures, checking if you're in any doubt 
  • Provide all aspects of care to the children you're responsible for 
  • Meet the personal and emotional needs of individual children 
  • Interact with children offering encouragement, praise and direction as required 
  • Any other duties as required 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Early Years Practitioner level 2 Apprenticeship 

There is a possibility of studying towards Functional Skills qualifications if you have not already achieved GCSE Maths & English 4/C or above, please discuss with the college. 

You will physically attend college every 6 weeks, college transport is available, along with other apprentices from a variety of settings. You will also have regular visits at the Nursery from your college assessor mentor and weekly meetings with your workplace mentor to make sure you are on track with your college work, they will support you throughout your apprenticeship. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Most of our apprentices have stayed with us in permanent employment, there may also be the opportunity for further training.
