What will the apprentice be doing?

General day to day tasks will include:

  • Start up of lasers and brake presses
  • Handling sheet metal, operating, loading and unloading of lasers
  • Deburring sheet metal, as required
  • Setting and operating brake presses
  • General housekeeping of the sheet metal section

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This is a Lean Manufacturing Level 2 apprenticeship, delivered over a period of 12 months.  You will be required to attend two weeks induction at the training provider (In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, Walsall, WS9 8UG) and the rest of the training will be assessor visits to you at the company site.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Initially to become a competent laser and brake press setter operator.

We do have opportunities to move into programming and design.
