What will the apprentice be doing?

The work includes: • Taking in and handing out prescriptions • Using computer systems to generate stock lists and labels • Ordering items • Receiving, loading, unloading deliveries • Selling over-the-counter medicines • Answering customers questions face to face or by phone • Preparing medicines • Referring problems or queries to the pharmacist A flexible approach is required for this position; working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. You will be given the training you need to be a member of the pharmacy team on the apprenticeship scheme with a chance to grow and learn ability to expand your knowledge and possibly move forward to doing the dispensing NVQ2 course.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Retail Level 2 Apprenticeship + 2 GPhC Accredited Courses delivered by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) Medicines Counter Assistant and Accredited Dispensing Assistant Course.
