What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Input and check all payroll information in accordance to company procedures
  • Ensure payrolls are completed in accordance with legislation and the departmental procedures
  • Plan and manage own workload as well as take instruction from the team leader
  • Manage day to day payroll administration (reports/costing/pensions/BACS/filing/reconciliation/employee documents/closing and opening periods)
  • Perform manual calculations
  • Maintain an on-going relationship with our services by supporting them and responding promptly and accurately to their requests
  • Adhere to GDPR and AML rules
  • Liaise with HMRC
  • Ensure client details and notes are updated when necessary
  • Attend meetings and participate in project activities
  • Proactively seek to keep up to date with legislation and changes within the industry
  • Contribute to product enhancement and improvement
  • Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide high level customer service

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administrator Standard, which includes:

  • Modules covering Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours in Business
  • You'll have a personal tutor to guide you through your training
  • You will attend 1:1 sessions with your tutor every 2/3 weeks
  • End Point Assessment (online)
  • Occasional group classes with other learners
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths & English if required
  • Business Administrator Certificate from IfATE and City & Guilds

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
