What will the apprentice be doing?

A morning shift at Woodside Lodge starts with handover from Senior carer, then assisting with giving breakfast to resident’s and assisting with feeding those residents in need. Care assistants will then assist each resident with daily personal care (washing and dressing etc) either with another carer for those who need extra help or individually. Carers will make sure resident’s rooms are left tidy, beds made, curtains open etc. The care staff will then help residents to engage in social, mobility or cognitive activities. Care staff then assist with serving the lunch time meal and helping to feed those in need. Throughout the day they are also needed to monitor and assist with toileting, pressure area care, health observations and assistance with behaviours related to dementia.
