What will the apprentice be doing?

Are you passionate about play? Would you love to work with children? We have a great opportunity to join our special team based in Birch Green in Hertford. Working 18 hours per week term time, plus two or more school holiday shifts of 8 hours, we will support you through your career and really care about you as an individual. This is a great free, paid training opportunity alongside a supportive team.

Typical duties/responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the children with health & safety and personal care
  • Putting on activities to keep the children entertained
  • Being a point of contact for parents and carers
  • Ensuring safeguarding practices are followed at all times. 


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Over approx. 21 months, you will study units such as health & safety in a childcare setting, holistic child development, safeguarding in a childcare setting, child development, communication with children, purposeful play and educational programmes, supporting children with special educational needs, collaborative working in early years childcare and wellbeing principles for children (these modules may differ).

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, Pediatric first aid and a TQUK Diploma in Early Years.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, the apprentice will have gained valuable experience and qualifications to be able to continue their career in the field.
