What will the apprentice be doing?

As an Apprentice Quality Inspector, you will carry out the following tasks:

  • Adhere to inspection documentation to ensure a standardised approach to inspection routines
  • Complete all associated documentatio to provide feedback and traceability information (PCRs-PQRs-RFT-SPC)
  • Ensure non-conforming product is contained, accurately recorded and reported at the earliest opportunity
  • Ensure that all equipment in use is within calibration
  • Ensure a prompt and efficient measuring service is provided to internal customers
  • Inspect samples taken from production at first off, last off and defined intervals
  • Verify conformance to specifications
  • Record results of inspections correctly and maintain traceability

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This is a 12 month Lean Operative Apprenticeship and training will include the following: Training will be delivered via virtual classroom sessions over a period of 12-months, including distance learning materials, as well as regular visits by your assessor at the company site. 

'Off the Job Training' subjects include:

  • Health & Safety within a Manufacturing Environment
  • Communicating and working effectively within a manufacturing environment
  • Working relationships and individual rights & responsibilities within a manufacturing environment
  • Application of workplace organisation and work-related problem-solving techniques
