What will the apprentice be doing?

This is a varied role where you will work as part of the Finance team and work on or assist with:

·         Supplier reconciliations

·         Preparation of payment requests

·         Preparation of accounting entries such as journals

·         Accounts Payable and posting sales invoices to the sales ledger

·         Accounts Receivable

·         Weekly Payroll

·         Day to day queries and finance related administrative tasks

·         Month end close process including reconciling accounts

·         Production of monthly and quarterly management accounts

You will be trained to use our accounting software and fully supported by your manager and your colleagues as you learn new skills and develop.  You will also work with other parts of the business and our external suppliers to get the information you need to do your job and to answer any queries.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

AAT Advanced diploma in accounting (level 3).

Training 1 day per week at New College Swindon (term time only).

Things to consider

Located in Stratton, Swindon with on site parking available. Tea and coffee provided and kitchen facilities but no canteen. You will need to complete pre-screening paperwork and have a chat with New College to discuss any experience, interest in the apprenticeship and how it is delivered. You will need to complete initial assessments in maths and English.
