What will the apprentice be doing?
You’ll work with some of the most advanced campaign software around to mobilise our 500,000 Back British Farming supporters as well as our farming members in England and Wales.
Based in our headquarters, set in beautiful rural Warwickshire, you will support our campaigning work to change the shape of British farming as our members strive to continue to produce food to world leading standards while delivering for the environment.
This role deals with some of the most important issues on the political and news agenda. You will help us make headlines across the media, turn heads and trend on social media, and represent our 50,000 members to MPs and peers in Westminster.
You’ll develop skills to create compelling content across all media formats including video, images, long and short-form articles as well as opinion pieces. Working with our press team you’ll learn how to work with national and local journalists to showcase the best of British farming and the changes needed for the industry to thrive.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The role will see you work four days per week in the office with one day per week with a cohort of your peers in the Press Association’s classroom in London.
You will achieve a Level 4 Public Relations and Communications Assistant apprenticeship at the end of your course.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This role is an ideal opportunity to build a broad base of skills needed to be a PR and communications professional. It could be a stepping stone into a press office role, campaigning or marketing career or a digital communications speciality.
