What will the apprentice be doing?
Role responsibilities (including, not limited to):
To work with and follow the recipes to ensure that each child has the recommended daily nutritional allowances per day, per week.
To be aware of children's allergy and dietary requirements.
Stock levels are maintained.
Co-ordinate the serving of the lunch and tea
Wash-up crockery and cutlery and all cooking equipment
Ensure the dining area is clean and tidy
Maintaining records (fridge/freezer temperatures, food probing, AM/PM checks, cleaning charts)
Ensuring that the storage of food is correct in accordance with the food standard agency and the HACCAP guidelines and that appropriate storage containers and labeling is available.
To ensure that all utensils and equipment is regularly cleaned, checked and recorded
To ensure that the kitchen is as free as possible from potential germs and cross –contamination
To implement all Health and Safety procedures
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will work towards a Production Chef Apprenticeship Level 2
You will have a dedicated industry expert to guide and coach you through components of your programme and you’ll experience a range of different learning opportunities.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Our apprentice will have the progression to increase their salary, once probation is completed and are showing commitment. There are oppportunities to be offered a permanent position at the Nursery.
