What will the apprentice be doing?

St Benet’s Primary School are recruiting! If you are keen to start a career within a primary school setting, completing a Business Admin Level 3, this could be the role for you. The successful candidate will benefit from valuable work skills whilst working within a school environment. 

Main duties to include: 

  • General admin duties including answering phone calls, email enquiries and greeting any visitors to the school 
  • Photocopying and preparation of documents as required  
  • Using school based electronic systems, including the school database and Office 365, in order to support all areas of admin 
  • Assist the School Business Manager with arrangements for parents’ evenings and other events 
  • Provide admin support for teaching staff throughout the school as required 
  • Assisting with pupil events to ensure smooth processes, i.e. school photos, pupil injections etc. 
  • Learn other admin roles within the school to provide cover when needed 
  • L3 apprentices would be expected to take full responsibility for an aspect of school administration 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training to be provided

Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
End-Point Assessment (EPA)
Training delivered by Access Training through a mixture of projects, training workshops and one to one support.

Things to consider

Must be competent in Microsoft IT packages. Full training will be given on in-house systems. Candidates must be able to travel to Ouston, Chester-le-Street for an 8am start – please check travel arrangements prior to applying for the role.
