What will the apprentice be doing?

• Designing test processes, including delivery of test plans and objectives.

• Taking end-to-end ownership of technical tasks and solutions from initial concept to delivery to the production environment.

• Working closely with senior test engineers, developers, product owners and wider scrum teams to develop a strong understanding of projects and testing objectives.

• Providing advice and guidance to stakeholders on test planning and execution processes.

• Documenting, tracking and escalating application defects as appropriate.

• Proposing, influencing, and negotiating technical solutions and testing strategies with senior stakeholders.

• Liaising with Corporate Senior Leaders and Product Owners to deliver against tight deadlines, providing advice and challenging where necessary to ensure the operation of the services that DVSA provides are not compromised.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 4 Software Tester (ST0129)
  • Residential training, short block release in Bedfordshire

     The apprentice will gain a thorough understanding of the various testing levels, testing types, techniques, tools, and the terminologies of the industry and gain the skills required to:

    · Review requirements 

    · Prepare test plans

    · Collect/develop representative test data

    · Design and execute tests

    · Compare test outcomes against expected results 

    · Document and report test results

Things to consider

Must be over 18 as the role includes travel to other locations and residential training. The candidate will need a full valid driving licence and be over 18 for insurance purposes.
