What will the apprentice be doing?

Key responsibilities for Forestry England National Estates team:

  • Help support management of our forests, properties and employees across England.
  • Supporting the office-based team in the day to day running of national estate.
  • Help with updating systems including intranet pages, mapping systems, financial information and tasks which include paying or issuing of invoices, archiving and ensuring the relevant information is recorded.
  • Involvement in local and national projects, travel bookings,sustainability planning, assisting other members of the office estates team including reception and office management with day to day running of the National office.
  • You may also be able to travel to some of our forest locations to work with other members of the estates team, attend relevant training courses in conjunction with your apprenticeship- all travel and costs will be covered.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training to be provided

The Business Administration standard is assessed by a range of methods to meet all the knowledge, skills and behaviours. Evidence will be collated within a portfolio of evidence. You also offer the Business Administration Diploma as an added qualification to the standard. To achieve the full Level 3, all units of the Diploma must be passed, meeting the assessment criteria.

College attendance for the delivery of the Diploma is mandatory for all apprentices. You will attend the Filton Campus of SGS College. 

You will also be supported by your assessor with face to face visits as well as some learning online. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of the apprenticeship, our aim is to be able to offer opportunities for full time employment with the organisation subject to satisfactory completion of the apprenticeship

Things to consider

The posts will be based in our National Office in Bristol. Blended working (working from home) may be available subject to a satisfactory completion of probationary period (3 months) and in discussion with the line manager. Interviews will be held at our office on 31/08/22 DBS Basic Security checks will be carried out for successful candidates as part of our pre-employment checks which we need to carry out. Having a positive attitude, a good work ethic and commitment to your education and continuing professional development as well as your employment are essential requirements to this role.
