What will the apprentice be doing?

Sales Ledger

  • Processing sales invoices on Sage and emailing to customers
  • Allocating customers receipts on Sage
  • Emailing monthly statements to customers
  • Emailing monthly reminders to customers
  • Emailing monthly final demands to customers
  • Processing monthly Letter Before Action forms with our solicitor
  • Emailing copy invoices to customers as requested sometimes a daily requests
  • Purchase Ledger
  • Entering supplier invoices on Sage weekly
  • Preparing a monthly BACS payment list
  • Matching supplier statements to the monthly BACS list before sending to be bank processed
  • Requesting copy missing supplier invoices from supplier statements as required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting L3 which contains:

  • Advanced bookkeeping.
  • Final accounts preparation.
  • Management accounting: costing.
  • Indirect tax.

This includes:

  • Main learning objectives: Analysis, produces quality and accurate information, problem solving, business awareness, IT systems and processes, financial accounting & processes.
  • EPA (End Point Assessment) – Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes a synoptic end test, a portfolio and a professional discussion. All assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.

This Apprenticeship requires you to attend college 1-day week. You will be assessed through written work, verbal discussion, synoptic exams and observation throughout your training.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Prospects – we have 2 sister companies so each process is run twice, ideally the candidate will learn all processes in our business through to trial balance and preparing monthly management accounts and cash flows, payroll and VAT/PAYE/CIS monthly submissions.
