What will the apprentice be doing?
There is an age old saying in land agency, that no two days are ever the same.
H&H Land & Estates regularly advise their clients in relation to the full spectrum of land agency matters including valuation; sales; lettings; residential and commercial development; farm business advice; landlord & tenant advice; forestry; and utilities work, amongst many more.
Day to day responsibilities will involve
- Supporting all members of the professional team at the H&H Land & Estates Durham office, getting fully involved in all of the aforementioned areas of professional practice.
- Duties might range from writing of valuation reports to undertaking site inspections, following the laying of a new water main through land belonging to a client, and anywhere in between.
- Assisting in providing regular client update reports and attending scheme progress meetings as required
The Durham office advises clients throughout the North East and Yorkshire.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will work towards achieving the Chartered Surveyor Degree apprenticeship, which includes:
BSc (Hons) degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management (REALM).
You will also work towards your APC (the Assessment of Professional Competence), which is the final assessment of your apprenticeship and leads to the MRICS qualification (Chartered Surveyor).
Training will be delivered at Harper Adams University through block weeks of training, supported by activities in the workplace such as work shadowing. There will be 8 block weeks of training throughout the year on campus that you will be expected to attend.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This apprenticeship leads to a qualified profession (MRICS). We will support you to achieve this as part of the structured programme. Once qualified you will have the opportunity to grow further within the business.
