Cornwall Glass Manufacturing Ltd, have an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join their experienced team, gaining a Level 2 apprenticeship as a Lean Manufacturing Operative. The successful candidate will be mentored by an experienced team who will support individuals to become fully skilled & qualified in the glass industry.

Rate of pay will rise during the apprenticeship in years 1 and 2 to between £17-21k per annum based on regular positive review and the apprentice will also receive a £250 contribution to driving lessons if required after 12 months.

What will the apprentice be doing?
On a day-to-day basis as a Glass Operative Apprentice at Cornwall Glass Manufacturing, you will be working at our Manufacturing site in Plymouth which produce a range of glass products from Double Glazed Units to bespoke mirror and laminated glass panels.
You will be carrying out your work as part of our experienced and friendly team, in a safe environment whilst meeting the high-quality standards set in a fast paced & well organised manufacturing site.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
· Familiarity with the production process from start to finish
· IGU Manufacture
· General Glass Processing
· Bespoke glass processes including, Painting, Sandblasting & Lamination
· Working on and learning the Toughening Furnace and process
· Glass Handling
· Glass Cutting
· Machine operation
· Health & Safety
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
During the Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Standard Apprenticeship, you will achieve a EAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills) qualification.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Progressing into higher level jobs within the company, increase in wage depending on performance. Rate of pay will rise during the apprenticeship in years 1 and 2 to between £17-21k per annum based on regular positive review and also receive a £250 contribution to driving lessons if required after 9 months.
