When you join CU Lighting as an apprentice on our four-year Highway Lighting Installation and Maintenance scheme, you can look forward to a bright future. You'll finish the apprenticeship with qualifications in highway electrical systems as well as a level 3 NVQ in highway lighting - with the aim to continue in a permanent role with us thereafter.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Installation and maintenance of High Mast lighting.
Installation of general highway lighting.
General highway electrical installation and maintenance
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Working from our local depots in Richmond North Yorkshire and Ware in Hertfordshire, you will spend most of your time out and about with our experienced and qualified teams, you will learn from experienced professionals and mentors to develop a comprehensive understanding of both High Mast and general highway lighting.
You will attend college on block release to gain you formal qualifications, NVQ Level 2 Highway Lighting, leading to NVQ Level 3 in Highway Lighting.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The aim is to offer a permanant role as a Highway Electrician upon achievement of NVQ Level 3 after 4 years.
This is a real path to a long and valuable career within a specialist company in the Highway Electrical sector.
