Increase in wage depending on performance. Rate of pay will rise during the apprenticeship in years 1 and 2 to between £17-21k per annum based on regular positive review and also receive a £250 contribution to driving lessons after 12 months.

What will the apprentice be doing?
On a day-to-day basis as a Glass Operative Apprentice at Mackenzie Glass, you will be working at our site in Bristol which produce a range of glass products.
You will be carrying out your work as part of our experienced and friendly team, in a safe environment whilst meeting the high-quality standards set in a fast paced & well organised manufacturing site.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- General Glass Processing
- Working on and learning the Toughening Furnace and process
- Glass Handling
- Glass Cutting
- Machine operation
- Health & Safety
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprenticeship in Fenestration consists of:
- Intermediate Standard Apprenticeship-Lean Manufacturing Operative
- L2 NVQ Diploma in Manufacturing
- Functional Skills in English and Maths (Level 1/2) where applicable
- Will include Level 2 NVQ in Glass Processing
All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer, and you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
You will achieve a qualification in Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Standard.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
