What will the apprentice be doing?

Accounts and finance assistant apprentice – The role will involve helping the growing accounts team with day-to-day tasks.

·       Replying to e-mails.

·       Answering the phone.

·       Making calls to customers.

·       General office tasks such as data entry on the computer.

·       Filing.

·       Completing other standard tasks from colleagues.

As part of the apprenticeship, we will support the candidate through the Finance and AAT qualifications (level 2 foundation certificates).

General training, as well as software specific assistance regarding sage 50 and Microsoft office applications will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be willing to learn, have good numerical skills, and have a reasonable level of competence with computers.

As a rapidly growing business, there will be a large number of opportunities to learn new skills and obtain valuable experience, all whilst becoming AAT qualified.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Accounts / Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

Level 2 AAT

Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

End-Point Assessment (EPA)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Pending their annual review, successful apprentices will be invited to join the accounts team as either an administrator or credit controller. Potential opportunities include training towards a supervisory or senior role, and the company as a whole has a number of opportunities in other departments also.  We are a fast-growing company with new opportunities arising all the time.

Things to consider

The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, positive and eager to learn. The job can be fast paced and you will occasionally need to adapt to the situation accordingly, so some flexibility would be beneficial. Candidates must be honest and able to communicate clearly, as you will be dealing with customers and colleagues regularly.
