Based in our beautiful Cirencester office this role is based in our bookkeeping department. You will be responsible for client bookkeeping, VAT returns, setting clients up on cloud based software and eventually training clients to use the software. You will have the opportunity to train for your certifications in Xero, QuickBooks & SAGE.

What will the apprentice be doing?

McGills is a friendly & supportive environment which not only services our Cirencester clients but supports our Malmesbury & Fairford office. You will have the opportunity to meet a variety of people and get involved with a variety of different aspects in the office.

Duties include but not limited to:

·         All aspects of bookkeeping

·         VAT

·         Setting up clients on cloud based software

·         Answering client queries

·         Some administrative tasks

Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship Programme 

Qualifications: Apprentices will be required to take one of the professional qualifications listed below, as chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role: AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting ACCA Certificate in financial and management accounting (level 2) IAB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping ICB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping

The successful candidate may be offered a full-time permanent position on the successful completion of the apprenticeship period.

Things to consider

• Our busiest times of the year are December and January. During these times you will not be authorised to take holiday and may be expected to work overtime • Weekly hours are 36.15 hours per week, to include 20% training in the office/college • You will receive 24 days holiday per annum including bank holidays
