What will the apprentice be doing?

Answering telephone, taking messages, answering the door and welcoming visitors etc, managing post, post office trips and keeping the fridge stocked, filing, managing resources such as stationery and requesting supplies, feedback surveys 

·        Events, Meetings and Trainings
Organisation – invitations, guest lists, resources including IT, refreshments, minute taking etc, training records, taking photographic records of activities   

·        Premises

Helping keeping the space presentable – watering plants, keeping posters up-to-date, being aware of health and safety  

·        Recruitment & Safeguarding

Helping arrange interviews following safer recruitment process, following up references

·        General learning administration

Maintain volunteer tutor records (c35) maintain learning resources – including laptops, organise mechanics of termly meetings – attendance, refreshments

·        Sessions: Welcome and liaise with learners, volunteers and occasionally parents, resolve problems, keep attendance registers for learners and tutors- take receipt of exam papers and store securely, support the smooth running of the exams – checking IT and resources in advance   

Attend Yeovil learning sessions (Tuesday morning) and provide support

·        Team support

Administrative support to CE and other staff members as required

·        Potential Project – Year 1 organisation of Volunteer’s Cream Tea – event organisation, invitation, negotiating cost,design and preparation of materials, photographs  

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Business Administrator Level 3 (A Level).
Yeovil College Assessor will make regular on-line appointments ranging between 4-6 weeks and occasional face to-face visits to guide through all requirements to complete the course this will take approximately 18months.
The apprentice will be guided & supported by the Assessor to build a portfolio of evidence including evidence of observations, professional discussions, work-based evidence, and reflective accounts.
A project from 9 months into the apprenticeship which is all part of the EPA process for the Business Administrator apprenticeship. To help with the knowledge for the Exam which is also part of the End Point Assessment process Yeovil College supplies a textbook which includes theory and activities and offers virtual workshops.
Yeovil College will also provide any Maths and English Functional skills if required.

About the employer

The Rendezvous is a Sherborne based charity that has been providing support services for young people (13-25) since 1997. We have a small team of core staff, sessional workers who deliver mental health support on a one-to-one basis and small group work, advice and information and young parents support groups together with an amazing group of volunteer tutors who help us deliver English and Maths tuition leading to Level 2 qualification. We have been growing and now offer some services in Gillingham, Shaftesbury and Yeovil. We now need more administrative help to keep us on track and ease the pressure on the team.
