What will the apprentice be doing?

Working alongside the glass cutting team you will develop an understanding and knowledge of glass variations in terms of coatings, patterns and applications. Working to a high degree of accuracy and quality, you will learn how to handle glass safely and cut glass of various types, shapes and thicknesses, using automated CNC Optimisation Equipment, as well as manual techniques.  This includes the creation of technical drawings, using the ICam system.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

Diploma in engineering operations (skills)
Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge)
Functional Skills in maths and English if required
Preparation for End Point Assessment

Training will be delivered on a day release basis and will take place at Hull Training's Engineering Centre (TEC), Danepark Road, Hull, HU69DX.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity of full time employment upon completion of the apprenticeship if available

You will be required to attend Hull Training's (TEC) recruitment session (initial assessments and interview) prior in order to be considered for shortlisting by KwikTuf.
