What will the apprentice be doing?

A newly created position reporting to and taking direction from the Finance Manager, and working across the business in various areas including Customs, Finance and Compliance.

The role is varied and there are both simple and complex elements to the role, so, basic tasks will enable the new employee to hit the ground running with the more technical elements involving a lengthy learning curve. Over time with increased knowledge and development within the role, we would expect the Office Administrator to take on additional responsibilities.

  • Processing and managing data for Customs entries
  • Assisting in the development of the company’s Customs services
  • Requesting and filing PODs
  • Maintaining Approved Supplier database
  • Checking and processing expenses claims
  • Documenting and processing purchase invoices
  • Processing and managing data in spreadsheets
  • Prepay information for payment runs
  • Assist with credit control and credit account management
  • Maintaining the Finance filing system both electronic and physical
  • Answering the telephone
  • Order office supplies
  • Ad-hoc tasks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Business Administrator Level 3.

This apprenticeship programme is delivered with a blended learning approach and includes a mixture of onsite tutor visits and online tutor led sessions. All delivery is completed in the workplace and you will not need to attend any off-site training.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Full training will be given in this challenging and varied role to ensure that the apprentice has the skills and expertise to become a permanent member of the team upon completion of the apprenticeship programme.
