What will the apprentice be doing?

As an apprentice, you’ll be working as a salon apprentice, assisting senior staff while learning to be an apprentice stylist.

Your duties include: 

  • Shampooing
  • Conditioning
  • Drying
  • Styling hair

You’ll also study the many issues surrounding hairdressing, such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection, technique and cutting.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be supported by City of Bristol College to achieve:

Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals (Hairdressing)
You will be supported in the workplace by a mentor, who will work with you to ensure you successfully complete the apprenticeship programme. 

You may also be required to attend college to complete functional skills Maths and English if needed.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
