What will the apprentice be doing?
You will work within various sectors throughout the service centre including machining and bench fitting, welding, electrics, assembling/ disassembling, balancing, inspection, testing and cleaning. You will be given thorough guidance and training in each of the sectors. Following this your duties will include :
- Operation of machinery
- Manufacturing Alfa Laval Parts and equipment using manual and CNC machinery
- Effective use of the barcode system
- Assisting with goods in/ goods out
- Maintaining correct and safe use of all equipment and ensuring that all H&S standards/ requirements are met including ensuring wearing PPE and maintaining a clean and tidy workshop area.
- Ensuring that you are up to date with all paperwork relating to your qualification
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be working towards a Level 2 Engineering Operative Standard - intermediate apprenticeship
The training will take place at Brooklands College, Heath Rd, Weybridge KT13 8T on Tuesdays, whilst the rest of the working week will be within our Service Centre in Camberley.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There is an opportunity to secure permanent employment here at Alfa Laval following successful completion of the level 2 apprenticeship as well as the opportunity to work towards your level 3 if you choose.
