Full training over a 2 year period which will include a learning programming for the operation and programming of our Laser machine as well as an apprenticeship as a general welder and fabricator.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Learning how to operate laser machine including programming
  • Loading material onto laser beds
  • Breaking out lasered parts after cutting
  • Booking in material onto system
  • Keeping work area clean and tidy
  • Forklift and Overhead Crane training will be given
  • Unloading stock deliveries
  • Organising and marking material in stock

In addition you will undertake an apprenticeship as a General Welder in Arc processes. See Training provided.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?


This includes:

City & Guilds L2 Diploma in Engineering (Technical Knowledge Certificate) 
Level 2 Workshop practical units including MIG welding, TIG welding, and Sheet Metal. 
End Point assessment.

Qualification achieved: Level 2 General welder

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This is a full time position with an apprenticeship and additional training to support you in this role. The Laser Operator is a pivotal role in the production line for LFE Engineering.
