What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Sales invoicing
  • Daily posting of purchase invoices
  • Reconcile supplier statements with invoices, request copies of any missing accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly payroll by entering time sheets
  • Post staff expenses
  • Post monthly credit card statement
  • Setting up contracts/suppliers/subcontractors
  • Verify subcontractors and maintain records for CIS purposes such as insurance documentation, SSIP accreditations
  • Arrange accommodation and travel requirements for employees
  • Organise reception area, answer telephone calls, log and distribute messages
  • Maintain stationery supplies and re-order as required.
  • Typing of general correspondence

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • AAT Foundation certificate in accounting (Level 2)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
