What will the apprentice be doing?

The role will encompass a fully accredited development programme, and on successful completion, you will qualify to work as a regulated Financial Adviser within the firm.

The ideal candidate will have already gained worthwhile experience in a Financial Advice or Financial Services environment and will have highly developed skills in using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Initially, you will support the Director in ensuring the effective delivery of administrative support to ensure that all necessary administration is completed in the provision of financial advice to clients.

  • Act as day-to-day point of contact for client service to resolve, progress and conclude administration satisfactorily.
  • Help the Systems Director prepare for client meetings.
  • To conduct product and investment research under the direction of the Systems Director.
  • To write suitability letters.
  • Implement any advice, once agreed by clients.
  • Track any advice in progress through to satisfactory completion.
  • Ensure that files are compliant and complete.
  • Manage and update the task diary.
  • Identify any opportunities to further refine systems.
  • Write letters to clients and companies as appropriate.
  • Provide a high level of service to clients to ensure that their expectations are managed.
  • Perform general office administration tasks when required and provide holiday cover for team members where necessary.
  • Maintain and update back-office systems efficiently.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks in the office as required from time to time.

You will progress through the firm's development programme. On completion and qualification as a regulated Financial Adviser, you will begin to advise clients on their financial planning needs.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprentices will work towards the Financial Adviser 4 apprenticeship standard including the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. 

The Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning includes:

  • R01 Financial Services Regulation and Ethics
  • R02 Investment Principles and Risk
  • R03 Personal Taxation
  • R04 Pensions and Retirement Planning
  • R05 Financial Protection
  • R06 Financial Planning Practice

The firm seeks to develop a passionate and conscientious client care team. Earnings potential will rise considerably once qualified. There is also the option to undertake further training towards being a Chartered Financial Planner.
