What will the apprentice be doing?

Training provided 4 days out of 5 on site working along side our experienced butchers to learn butchery skills.

Role will include:

  • Presenting meat for sale on the serve over counter 
  • Serving customers
  • Cleaning and record keeping,  stock rotation 
  • Manufacturing and packing sausages and burgers
  • Breaking down carcases in primals
  • Tying joints and packing joints 

One day a week day release to Sparsholt College to complete their butchery apprenticeship programme

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Once you have completed you End Point Assessment you will have achieved:

Level 2 Standard in Butchery

Level 2 Certificate in Professional Butcher

Level 2 Food safety Award

Level 2 Food safety in the Food Supply Chain Award

Level 2 Health & Safety Award

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Should lead to a full time full with our butchery team, within which we have a possibility of progression to butchery team leading

Things to consider
