Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Level 3 P & D MANUFACTURING LTD

We are seeking an apprentice to compliment our current highly skilled toolmaking team. Toolmaking is a technical role and requires a good level of maths, intelligence, and eye for detail. As an apprentice you will be trained to disassemble, maintain, and reassemble injection mould tools, as well as making parts for old and new tooling.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Apprentice toolmaker – Training on the following with a view to becoming a qualified toolmaker.

Disassemble, maintain, and rebuild injection mould tools.

Make parts for moult tools, plus jigs and fixtures. All to tight tolerances.

Use all toolroom machinery, Mill, Lathe, Grinder, EDM and Wire EDM to a high level of accuracy.

What is delivered?

All apprentices will be required to achieve as a minimum- Level 2 Foundation competence qualification (Practical units broad based skills)
Level 3 Development Competence qualification (Practical work based units)
Level 3 Development technical knowledge qualification (Theory based units broad based knowledge)
Apprentice without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this prior to taking EPA 
End Point Assessment:

Portfolio Based Occupational Competence Interview (Viva)
A nominated professional Institution (PEI) undertakes the independent assessment to determine if the apprentice has met the EngTech requirements as defined by the UK-SPEC
