What will the apprentice be doing?

Your day to day jobs will be:

  • Assisting Stylists with their clients by shampooing and mixing
  • Customer service
  • Reception
  • Up keep of the salon areas


As your skills develop you may be able to:

  • Blow dry clients hair
  • Straighten and curl clients hair
  • Apply colour to clients hair
  • Cut clients hair 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The qualifications you will achieve are:

  • NVQ Level 2 Hair professional
  • End Point Assessment
  • Functional Skills maths/English level 1/2 (if applicable)  


Training will take place in salon with your employer/salon trainer on a regular basis for the duration of your apprenticeship

Intuitions will provide in salon bespoke training once per forgtnight on a one to one basis for the duration of your apprenticeship

This role will involve working with chemicals and heated equipment You will have to keep the salon clean and tidy throughout the day You will have to make tea and coffee for the clients throughout the day You will have to work Saturdays and one late night
