What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Main duties of job – General Office Administration:

  • Diary co-ordination and meeting room bookings

  • General office management proving support for stationery ordering, Health & Safety items etc.

  • Support in arranging new starter equipment, logins and induction programmes

  • Support with General Marketing Events/Activities e.g.Sales Conference

  • Support with Charity and general SCC CSR/ESG activities

  • Attend and partake in PA Forum activities, such as lunch and learn sessions, personal and career development, face to face events and Learning & Development conference

  • Understanding and completion of expense claims on an ad hoc basis as instructed by line manager

  • Support to the central travel team

  • Liaise with SCC Facilities on the cleaning regime

  • Ensure meeting rooms are kept clear and tidy at all times

  • Ensure tea & coffee is available & maintained for client facing area & internal

  • Assist in the management of the meeting room bookings

  • Order lunch where requested for client meetings

  • Advise and assist on AV connectivity in the meeting rooms

  • Log and manage IT fault calls relating to the ‘Office’ equipment

  • Manage the receipt of any deliveries to the Office

  • Manage any central switchboard enquiries

  • Manage incoming and outgoing post

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Full on-the-job training and support will be provided to enable the successful applicant to undertake the full range of duties required of the role. All apprentices are required to complete and evidence 20% of the job learning whilst on their apprenticeship. In addition, the apprenticeship will be delivered primarily on our online platform, Babington Online and you will receive full support from our dedicated team of Training Advisors via workshops, webinars and regularly scheduled reviews, conducted by Skype and/or Phone.

Our Business Administrator Level 3 Programme consists of the following:

  • Business Administrator  Level 3 Standard
  • Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy Level 2
  • End-point Assessment conducted by an external provider (Presentation or project, interview and knowledge test)

The end-point assessment is designed to enable apprentices to demonstrate that they are fully conversant in the skills knowledge and behaviours expected of individuals at this level. It is designed to provide assessors with a holistic view of the apprentice, and to allow them to assess to what extent the apprentice meets or exceeds the apprenticeship standard.
