What will the apprentice be doing?

Key Responsibilities

To undertake a range of duties, as instructed by your line manager, that are relevant to the role, such as, supervise children at mealtimes, supporting children's learning and development and encouraging children to try new things. 

To engage in learning and progress towards an appropriate work-based qualification such as a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 2, and a technical qualification such as a BTEC or City & Guilds (relevant to the specific Apprenticeship).

To work towards the achievement of Key Skills/Functional Skills qualifications, to improve literacy and numeracy and in some cases team working, problem-solving and using new technology.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Attendance will be one day per week at college. You will receive the Early Years Practitioner Level 2 standard apprenticeship qualification, upon successful completion.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once successfully completed the apprenticeship, there is the potential to progress into full time employment, or into a higher-level apprenticeship – or potentially, both.
