What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be required to work across school within all our classes working with children from year 1 to Year 6. This would mean you are required to complete a wide range of tasks which could include:
- Supporting in the classroom to help develop strong maths and English skills
- Delivering small break out groups working with children who may require extra help
- Taking part in various activities around school as and when required such as Sports day, School discos and Fundraising events.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Apprenticeship Scheme is run in conjunction with a training provider to ensure that you are supported by a first class training programme. You will attend a class or workshop - either face to face or online - once a week in one of our Adult Education Centres, located across the county, which will enable you to achieve the following qualifications:
- Advanced Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching & Learning in Schools
- Functional Skills at Level 2, English, Maths, if required
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of the apprenticeship will lead to consideration for any roles that are available within the school at the time.
