What will the apprentice be doing?

As a production chef, you will learn the essential skills required to work in a professional kitchen setting. Your daily responsibilities will include and not be limited to:

  • Working with a range of food types and cooking methods, including fish, meat, vegetables and dairy
  • Develop the ability to use a range of cooking appliances
  • Ensure each dish is cooked to a high standard, following recipes accurately and paying close attention to hygiene and allergy restrictions
  • Taking the initiative in carrying out tasks and taking control when needed
  • Maintaining a high level of health and safety conduct, ensuring all procedures are followed precisely
  • Exhibit a high level of service and attention to detail in all tasks, setting an excellent role model example
  • While the majority of your responsibilities will be carried out within the kitchen, you will also assist with duties such as unloading deliveries, stock rotation and others, to ensure all aspects of the workplace run smoothly

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
