The Department of Medicine are seeking to recruit a Reception Apprentice to join the Building Services Team in the new Heart and Lung Research Institute (HLRI). You will form part of a two-person reception team to ensure core reception service provision is delivered during the busiest time of the day.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Provide a reception service for the HLRI. Welcome and receive visitors, answer telephone calls, take accurate messages and pass on to appropriate members of staff.
- Monitor access into the building and report any incidents related to breach of security, locking the front door at the end of the day, issue security cards, sign out keys and other equipment where necessary
- Booking of taxis, recording the details accurately and ensuring cross charging for taxi use
- Coordinate room bookings, liaise with staff and students on requirements e.g. room set up, AV requirements.
- Undertake basic administrative/clerical duties. For example, updating records such as contact lists
- Monitor stationery supplies
- Supporting the wider Building Services team including ad hoc tasks as required
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
At the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieved a Level 2 Customer Service Standard qualification.
