What will the apprentice be doing?
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a family run security company based in Blyth, Northumberland. Due to continued expansion within the business, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Multi Discipline Installation Engineer. The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of duties and work towards a three year apprenticeship in Fire, Emergency & Security Systems (with day release one day per week).

Duties to include:
- Assisting a senior engineer with routine planned preventative maintenance works and re-active corrective maintenance works.
- Assisting a senior engineer with small works as required
- Assisting the installation team with the installation, commissioning and handover of electronic security systems
- Working to system specifications/plans/drawings
- Liaising with end users/clients on site
- Competing all relevant paperwork
- Learning and working to the BS/EN Standards and NSI Codes of Practice
- Completion of other associated paperwork and documentation
- H&S training/tool box talks via our H&S portal
Applicants should have good IT skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office
Probationary period applies.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Training to be provided
Delivery is through a mixture of training (both on and off the job) and weekly day release at our Team Valley training centre throughout the duration of the programme.
As an apprentice, you will work towards:
- Level 3 Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Apprenticeship (FESSA) standard
- Level 2 qualifications in maths and English are a pre-requisite for entry onto this programme
