About us:

New Forest District Council (NFDC) is planning positively for the future, addressing the needs of the local community and protecting our unique and precious environment.  The council covers a diverse range of services, from Planning, Housing, and Environmental Health, to frontline services such as refuse collection and street cleaning, all of which are essential to our area.

Here at NFDC, we encourage our employees to make a valuable contribution to the work of the council by having a trusting and open culture, where ideas are actively sought and self-development promoted.

Whether you are leaving college, employed and looking to boost your skills, unemployed and looking for a job or simply looking for a new challenge, an Apprenticeship will set you on the road to career success. Apprenticeships offer many advantages over other, more traditional, methods of learning. As well as working towards a nationally recognised qualification, you will also be developing skills directly relevant to your chosen career.

About you

The successful candidate will have a willingness to learn and a keen interest in Human Resources and Business Administration, be hardworking, reliable and have a pro-active approach to work.  You will have Maths and English GCSEs at grade 9-3 (A*-D).  Desirable, but not essential would be 3 A-levels.  A successful candidate who doesn’t have the English and maths will need to complete and pass an initial Maths and English assessment and further training will be given to get you up to speed.

As part of the role you will have access to personal data so the need to be discreet and manage confidential information will be essential.

Additional Information

Preference will be given to someone who lives, works, or has studied in the New Forest District.

You’ll be given the equivalent of a day off each week to complete your apprenticeship study.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprentices will undertake a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Programme with the support of Brockenhurst College. Training will be provided by the HR Administrators team which you will be part of. You’ll be given the equivalent of a day off each week to complete your apprenticeship study.
