What will the apprentice be doing?

An Apprentice Teaching Assistant is required to join our hard-working team in providing a high-quality education for each and every pupil. The successful apprentice will be supporting to provide a safe, happy and purposeful learning environment, which enables our children to shine and to learn with laughter.

Under the guidance of teachers, the apprentice will be involved in working with children to support the education, personal and social development of pupils and establishing positive relationships to assist in structured learning activities. Duties may include, supporting in learning activities, producing learning resources and assisting in the development of skills that support pupils' learning. The apprentice will assist in pupil supervision and pupil progress and development.

As part of this role, the successful candidate will be expected to work towards and complete the apprenticeship standard, Teaching Assistant Level 3. The apprentice will be supported with induction and internal on–the–job training. The successful candidate will also be required to complete functional skills initial assessments in Maths, English.

Maths, English functional skills must be completed as part of the apprenticeship, if GCSE C/4 has not previously been achieved.  .

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

the apprentice will be based at Broadacre, Caton, LA2 9NH and all traiuning will be delivered on a one to one basis in the work place.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is no guarantee of a role at the end of this apprenticeship, but support will be given to secure employment, through the Lancaster and Morecambe cluster of schools, should there not be an appropriate vacancy in our school. Support will be given with completing applications and interview preparation.

Things to consider
