What will the apprentice be doing?

Reporting into the Procurement Manager the postholder will:

  • Undertake a variety of tasks within the procurement process, inc. preparation of tender/quotation documents and analysis of bids.
  • Perform cost / spend analysis in Excel e.g. compare different suppliers’ commercial offers against each other or calculate projected savings against current spend baseline.
  • Participate in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Review suppliers’ contract terms with support from support from colleagues in the team.
  • Organise supplier presentations and visits.
  • Maintain the contracts database, ensuring relevant information is captured correctly and always up to date.
  • Undertake first line monitoring against procurement and legal policy and procedures.
  • Support the team with general administrative duties.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant qualification.

Training will take place at the Benenden registered office:

Benenden Heath, Holgate Park Drive, York, YO26 4GG

Training will be on day release.
