What will the apprentice be doing?

We are a home based busy childcare setting and care for children of all ages, we are looking to add to our friendly team. The successful candidate will have a desire to see children learn and grow, and being punctual is an essential skill.

Job role will include the following duties:

  • Caring for children
  • Helping children develop
  • Plan exciting activities
  • School runs
  • Assisting in after school activities
  • Helping children with homework and reading
  • General housekeeping

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Standard
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English

Work based learning and site visits (when permitted) once a month to include training for Diploma and Functional Skills where applicable. The course will take between 15 – 22 months (practical period)
depending on hours worked and prior learning. Preparation for end point assessment will take place within 3 months of practical period completion.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of their apprenticeship and for the right candidate, there is a potential to gain a permanent position within the company.
