Accountancy Apprentice Ency Associates

We are looking for 2 apprentices to learn bookkeeping programmes such as Sage and Xero to increase their IT skills and enhance practical knowledge of accountancy and bookkeeping. They will be learning about preparation of sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts as well as preparation of bookkeeping accounts, PAYE and VAT returns.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Tailored one to one training to deal with practical aspects of the work, reporting to senior manager and partner
  • Learning bookkeeping programmes such as Xero and Sage to enhance IT skills and accountancy knowledge
  • Preparation of sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts as well as preparation of bookkeeping services, PAYE and VAT returns
  • Potential exposure to personal tax work dependant on progress and business needs

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentices will attend Havant Campus of HSDC one day per week as part of the learning.  They will be studying for Level 2 AAT Accounts or Finance Assistant for 12 months. Further learning will also be through our work based trainer in the workplace. At the end of successful completion of the apprenticeship, they will gain their Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant qualification.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression to Level 3 and 4 AAT and to partner level also possible.
