What will the apprentice be doing?

Kids in Bloom @ The University of Liverpool is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and confident individual with good personal and communication skills, the ability to show initiative and be successful in a lovely nursery working environment.

The role will include, but is not restricted, to:

  • Successfully gaining DBS clearance before starting work
  • Working at Kids in Bloom @ The University of Liverpool for an agreed number of hours per week
  • Attending 'off the job' training one day per week
  • Being supported and guided as well as following instructions from the line manager or Room Leader, in all aspects of work within the nursery setting
  • Performing a range of activities with the children in the nursery, indoors, outdoor, and out on our regular trips, which could include feeding, playing, reading, singing etc
  • Complying with all safeguarding legislation and attending safeguarding training
  • Complying with health, safety and security regulations and legislation
  • Liaising with manager

This employer is willing to take on a Level 3 Apprentice if a candidate has already obtained the appropriate Level 2 qualification. The role is full time and permanent, providing good job security.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Level 2: On completion of Level 2 Early Years Practitioner there is the possibility of progressing to a further 18-month advanced apprenticeship to complete the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.


Level 3: On completion of the Level 3 apprenticeship, you will have the skills and qualifications to go on and potentially manage a nursery.

Kids in Bloom @ The University of Liverpool is based in Grove Street, Liverpool between the Women’s Hospital and The Royal Hospital. We work with children from the ages of 0-5 years old. We also have a Breakfast Club, After School Club based at a local school and a Holiday Club which runs during all School Holidays.
