What will the apprentice be doing?
The BA will work very closely with the Product Owner to position Mercury as the leading recruitment solution and ensure best-in-class status. Furthermore, they will use their knowledge of the product and its application within customers to drive adoption and customer success when working with new customers.
With excellent communication skills and deep subject matter expertise, the BA will develop strong experience in both successful product specification and software implementation and a passion for customer success. The BA develops detailed recruitment sector and product knowledge, and makes a point of truly understanding the processes and ways of working of both Mercury xRM and its customers.
Key Focuses:
- Detailed specification of user stories, features and functionality for Mercury
- Acceptance criteria for specified functionality
- Evaluating Microsoft Business Applications and Business Platform capabilities
- Customer Success, supporting pre-sales and post-sales teams
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Product Owner and development team the Business Analyst will:
- Identify and document the functional capabilities of the Mercury recruitment solution
- Write user stories and define acceptance criteria
- Production of functional and technical specifications
- Identify edge-cases, error conditions, dependencies and impacts
- Define business problems and application solutions through a detailed understanding of recruitment processes and solution capability
- Breakdown features into a multiple cross-functional stories
- Production of training material, product videos and user guides
The Business Analyst will support in both pre-sales and post-sales activities, whereby they will:
- Assist with product demonstrations or advise on product configuration and integration options
- Prepare demonstration environments, configurations for customer demos or trial
- Work with new customers to define configuration based on their needs and requirements
- Configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Mercury recruitment solution for customer go live
- Define, build and implement Dynamics 365 views, charts and dashboards for customers
- Consult and provide subject matter expertise on the Mercury solution, Dynamics 365 and recruitment business processes
- Assist in the provision of go-live training and adoption
The Business Analyst will play a key role in the continuous evaluation of Microsoft’s product offering and technology stack, assessing suitability and compatibility with Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement and the Mercury recruitment solution. This may include but is not limited to:
- Business Applications
- Dynamics 365 for Sales, Marketing, Financials, Operations and Talent
- Productivity Suite
- Office 365, Skype for Business, SharePoint, OneNote, Excel
- Business Platform
- Power BI, Flow, PowerApps, Common Data Service
- Azure Services Search, Cognitive Services, Machine Learning, Customer Insights
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As part of the Level 4 Business Analyst apprenticeship standard, you’ll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to an industry recognised qualification and your dedicated industry coach will support you through a blended approach that will include remote, in person, 1-2-1 and group learning.
