What will the apprentice be doing?

The Administration Support Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Using the reservations system to view bookings and produce reports
  • Creating documents to be sent to clients
  • Collating and checking all the documents for the different elements of a client’s holiday
  • Liaising with Reservations on any booking anomalies and amendments
  • Using Excel
  • Dealing with brochure requests and the post
  • Producing clients’ travel documentation

You will gain a broad understanding of the back-office operations of a travel company. We would also give the successful candidate the opportunity to learn more about the other elements of the business including Reservations and Marketing, offering support to those departments and the opportunity to work on projects with them. You would be working under the Client Services Coordinator and alongside the other members of the administration team.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There may be the potential for a full-time role to be offered to the suitable and successful candidate upon completion of the apprenticeship. Potential future progression may include developing in another department, for example, Reservations.
