What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes whilst under the instruction of skilled technical staff.
  • Learning how to maintain workshop equipment and also how to keep it in good repair.
  • Disassembly and accurate re-assembly of industrial equipment.
  • Performing planned and predictive maintenance.
  • Assessing need for spare parts as required.
  • Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business.
  • Job shadowing the engineers and learning all aspect of engineering
  • All aspects of general housekeeping.
  • To liaise withthe co-ordinator to establish requirements for the day.
  • Conform to health and safety procedures and policies at all times.
  • To perform any other duties appropriate for the grade and role of the post holder.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards the Engineering Operative Level 2 qualification, this will be delivered fully work based via visits from a teacher from Springfield Training.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is a possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate within the company upon successful completion of the Engineering Operative Level 2 qualification you may then be given then chance to complete the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 course.
