What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties & Responsibilities:
· To learn how to produce printing plates to the required specification
· To produce clean blemish free plates for the printing process
· To learn how to operate all necessary equipment
· To learn how to proof all jobs to the detail provided by the Client Services Team
· Working to a prioritised list of work on a designated type of proof or plate
· Ensure all records are kept up to date
· Keep the department / area clean & tidy
· To learn how to complete routine maintenance of all machinery in graphics
· Carry out all work in a safe manner, ensuring compliance with the company’s policies on Health & Safety and ISO 14001
· Communicating / advising when there is a potential problem with a job or plate to the line Manager
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Full training will be provided which will involve apprentices completing the Level 3 Print Technician Standard.
The Apprentice will be given one day a week at work to work on their Off the Job requirement of the Apprenticeship at The Encore Group.
The Apprentice will be allocated a dedicated BPIF Training Co-Ordinator. Training will be delivered through a combination of remote and face to face learning.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship a review of the current vacancies within the Company will be conducted and the newly qualified apprentice will be encouraged to apply for any relevant vacancies that the Company may have at that time.
