  • Working week

    40 hours per week Mon to Sun – shifts plus one sleepover weekly. Weekdays(7.30am-3.30pm/12pm-8pm/9am-5pm) Weekends (10am-8pm/8am-2pm/2pm-8pm) Sleep-ins 11am-10.30pm, wake the next morning and finish shift 7am-11.30am. Paid breaks

What will the apprentice be doing?

  •  Handling medication  

  • Personal care; Person centred approach

  • Promoting and ensuring privacy and dignity

  • Escort residents to daily activities

  • Support residents with cooking, cleaning and other house duties

  • Develop effective teamwork with staff group, and attending and taking an active part in team meetings.

  • Implementing Cambuslodges’ Policies and Procedures relating to standards of care and carry out those procedures competently e.g. accident, fire, medication.

  • To develop a good professional relationship with families, friends and the local community.

  • Maintain Care Procedures and all relevant Health and Safety Legislation.

  • Taking responsibility for implementing and supervising good care practices to include, Care Plans and reviews. 

  • Take responsibility of Keyworker role and relevant procedures. 

  • To maintain essential documentation and provide factual reports.

You will have monthly meetings with your Trainer via video call, during working hours. Your employer will also allow you time, during working hours, to work towards your apprenticeship
